SMRT is an acronym for Self-Mobilise Release Technique and the SMRT
System is a new, revolutionary approach to the management of the body's
musculoskeletal system.
SMRT Systems has developed the local-regional-global model to address injury
and dysfunction of the body. Local, as in the specific site of pain or symptom,
regional, as in the relevant structures above and below the site of symptom
which can contribute or be the underlying cause of the dysfunction, and global,
as in optimising the functioning of the entire body to prevent recurrence and
improve overall well-being.
SMRT utilises a majority of the basic principles of injury
rehabilitation and sports conditioning including; trigger point release and
soft-tissue massage, joint and nerve mobilisation, stretching as well as
resistance and core strengthening.
