Who's on the Spanner?

I started using the Bodyspanner at the beginning of 2009.  As a professional cyclist of 8 years, I have become very aware of my body issues including a chronic hip injury that I can date back to my childhood.

Over the years as an athlete, I have been a regular visitor to all different types of therapists – physios, chiros, acupuncturists, osteopaths, massage therapists and other alternative methods.  Whilst effective, the particular injury would always flare up again unless I had constant therapy.

Travelling to up to 110 days of racing in a year, I have always searched for a solution that I can take on the road with me and use to manipulate my body and enable myself to perform at my best.  I have been known to travel with tennis balls, foam rollers, Chinese cups, and other body “toys” to get to those spots but there was never ever one solution….until the Spanner came along.

At first the configuration options that the Bodyspanner provided was a little daunting and I was a little clumsy in getting the treatment balls in the right place.  But very quickly, I was able to create a routine that best suited my requirements and with a little bit of repetition I found myself flying through the process and really benefitting from the different applications.  It has drastically decreased my need to regularly work with therapists and when I am travelling, I know that whenever an issue crops up, I won’t have to put up with it until I get back to my home base making the SMRT Bodyspanner both cost-effective and invaluable!  As a coach at www.daybydaycyclecoaching.com, I now recommend the Spanner to all of my clients.  For the first time in my career, I can maintain my own body issues….where was this 8 years ago?!

Ben Day,

Fly V Australia Pro Cycling Team.

'I have found the SMRT Bodyspanner to be an absolute revolution in the way I both perform manual treatment techniques and prescribe exercise programs.  The SMRT Bodyspanner minimises the stress placed on the therapist's arms, hands, fingers and thumbs when performing manual therapy techniques, but is sensitive enough to deliver proprioceptive response.  I have not encountered as many different functional exercise applications from the one product prior to finding the SMRT BodySpanner. I have no hesitation in recommending this product to both physiotherapists and the general public for preventative and therapeutic applications.'

Marcus Smith, Wagga Wagga physiotherapist and Ironman Hawaii Finisher '08 and '09.

'I purchased the SMRT Bodyspanner hoping to reduce the stress on my body in the course of my work as a physiotherapist.  I was initially apprehensive that it might cause me to lose strength and control with my palpation and treatment techniques.  How wrong I was.  The Bodyspanner has revolutionised my career.  It allows me controlled power with the majority of my treatment techniques.  Believe it or not, I can even perform strong lumbar and thoracic unilateral mobilisations sitting down!!!   I'm getting better results with much less effort, using good posture - I can finally practice what I preach!  Thanks guys.'

Damian Aylward, Brisbane physiotherapist.

'The SMRT Bodyspanner has helped maintain my busy teaching schedule, increased my flexibility and range of motion as well as provide relief and support for a past back injury.  I have found the SMRT System invaluable in the ongoing management of my chronic low back pain and other minor strains and sprains suffered from intense training.'
